Adam Werbach
CEO of Planet10B, Breakthrough Institute Board Member
Adam Werbach is the CEO of Planet10B, an independent technology and media consultancy. Elected at age 23 as the president of the Sierra Club, Adam has spent the years since translating environmental ambition into corporate practice. He launched and led sustainability programs for companies including Walmart and Duke Energy, built the global sustainability practice for Publicis Groupe, founded the technology startup Trove, which today powers resale programs for brands from Patagonia to Levi's to Canada Goose, and led the launch of sustainable shopping at Amazon.
Today Adam works across big data and civic technology projects, including Transparent City, the city informatics platform that monitors live government data across hundreds of municipalities, alongside a portfolio of tech-enabled entertainment and marketing ventures.
Adam first worked with Ted Nordhaus in 2003 as one of the founding team members of the Apollo Project, an early effort to build a post-partisan clean energy and jobs agenda.
Adam is the author of two books: Act Now, Apologize Later (Harper-Collins), and Strategy for Sustainability (Harvard Business Press).
