Erik B. Olson was a climate and energy analyst at Breakthrough. He's a recent graduate from Utah State University in Logan, Utah with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and was a 2019 Breakthrough Generation Fellow. While a student, he was a member of student government, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and various student organizations and professional societies. These experiences fostered a love for engaging in the political process, and culminated in his chairing of a statewide lobbying effort for clean energy. Professionally, he enjoys taking on large problems and combining his technical and political knowledge in complex systems. Erik is an avid skier, hiker, and musician, and can usually be found on a mountain in northern Utah or playing guitar with his friends. He happily volunteers in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program as a Big Brother, and is continually inspired by his Little Brother. He cares deeply about climate change, and wants to build his career in making a difference on the issue.
