Birger Steen is an advisor to Zunum Aero, with a focus on commercial and corporate development. Birger advises and invests in a number of startups, including Skooler, Wellpepper, Cognite AS, Swarm64 AS, and Orions Systems. He serves on the board of Nordea AB, a top-10 European bank, Schibsted ASA, a worldwide leader in online classifieds, and Nordic Semiconductor, the world leader in Bluetooth Low Energy technology. He was CEO at Parallels and Scandinavia Online, and spent an 8-year stint at Microsoft as country manager for Norway and Russia and VP WW SMB. Birger began his career at McKinsey & Company, where he learned to love flat organizations and cherish every member’s obligation to dissent. When he’s not with his kids or at work, he reads, plays the guitar, skis, paddles various watercraft, and enjoys red wine from the West of France and the middle of Italy.
