Jane Flegal

Program Officer for Environment, The Bernard and Anne Spitzer Charitable Trust

Jane Flegal is Program Officer for Environment at The Bernard and Anne Spitzer Charitable Trust, where she oversees grant-making on climate and energy. She is an adjunct professor at the School for Innovation in Society at Arizona State University. Previously, Jane worked as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Energy Project of the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) in Washington, DC. While at the BPC, Jane worked on federal energy innovation policy and geoengineering. Jane earned her PhD in the department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley in 2018, where her dissertation focused on solar geoengineering. Her articles have appeared inNature Climate Change, Climate Law, and Issues in Science & Technology, among others. She has been an Oxford Martin Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford, and a Summer Research Resident at the Harvard Solar Geoengineering Research Program. Jane earned her BA in Environmental Science and Politics from Mount Holyoke College in 2009.
