Julian Brave NoiseCat (Secwepemc/St'at'imc) is a policy analyst at 350.org and freelance writer based in Washington, DC. His writing is grounded in history, informed by investigative reporting, strengthened by analytical insights, and made relevant through personal perspective. His work has been featured in The Guardian, Vice Motherboard, CBC, The Marshall Project, High Country News, Salon, HuffPost, Canadian Geographic, World Policy Journal, Development, Jacobin, Splinter, Frontier Magazine, Indian Country Today, and other publications. The UN Committee on Economic Social & Cultural Rights invited him to consult on their forthcoming general comment on land rights. Before turning his time to the climate movement, he was an Urban Fellow in the Commissioner’s Office of the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development and graduated with degrees in history from Columbia University and the University of Oxford.
