Robert Paarlberg

Associate, Sustainability Science, Harvard Kennedy School

Robert Paarlberg, emeritus professor of political science at Wellesley College, is an Associate in the Sustainability Science program at the Harvard Kennedy School and at Harvard's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. His books on international food and agricultural policy include Resetting the Table: Straight Talk About the Food We Grow and Eat (Knopf 2021), Food Politics: What Everyone Needs to Know (Oxford 2013), and Starved for Science: How Biotechnology is Being Kept Out of Africa (Harvard 2008). He has been a consultant to IFPRI, USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and the Bipartisan Policy Center. For the Breakthrough Institute, his essay on sustainable livestock production appears in the Summer 2022 issue of Breakthrough Journal.
