Ian Peter Busuulwa
Coordinator - Bioeconomy Coalition of Africa
Ian Peter Busuulwa is the Coordinator of the Bioeconomy Coalition of Africa - a platform of stakeholders working together to grow the bioeconomy in Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Makerere University in Kampala (Uganda) and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from KIIT University in India. He is a 2022 Breakthrough Generation Fellow with vast experience in science policy and communication in the fields of agricultural biotechnology and the bioeconomy.
He was introduced to science policy during his undergraduate days when he joined efforts to advocate for genetic engineering regulation in Uganda. Since then, he has been involved in advocating for the adoption of agricultural technologies through engagements with several organisations including the Uganda Biosciences Information Center and Science Stories Africa.
