Lauren Teixeira is a Climate and Energy Analyst with The Breakthrough Institute. She holds a Master's in City and Regional Planning with a concentration in Urban Informatics from the Rutgers Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and a Bachelor's in Philosophy from Grinnell College.

Prior to her pivot to data science, Lauren was a journalist in China, where she covered the intersection of politics and culture for a variety of publications including The Economist, New York, Foreign Policy, Deadspin, VICE and more.
